Register-based research
Register-based research is performed within public health, major diseases and welfare. At present, our major research themes are:
- Theme 1: Economic crises and public health consequences
We study the potential consequences on public health of the worldwide economic crisis which started in 2007/2008. We evaluate if specific population groups experience an elevated risk of health problems as well as the impact on social inequalities and geographical differences.
- Theme 2: GIS and public health geographics
Geographical variation in the occurrence and incidence of diseases is studied. Clustering of diseases and the association with geography, such as health-related exposures in the environment, are evaluated.
- Theme 3: Validation of population-based registers
Methods for validation of existing registers are studied and applied for the evaluation of the validity of Danish registers.
- Theme 4: Methodological developments in register-based research
New epidemiological and statistical methods will be implemented in register-based studies.
