The European Centre for Register-Based Health-Related Population Research (ECREPH)
A European Centre for collaboration, research and education in register-based studies of public health, major diseases and welfare
ECREPH is an international leading centre aiming to increase research using population-based registers, facilitating collaboration and offering training courses and education within register-based research. ECREPH has unique access to comprehensive population-based registers on public health in Denmark. Data include health care contacts, cause of death, prescription medicine and data on education, employment and income. An overview of existing Danish registers is available through the Database on Danish Registers.
ECREPH was established in 2008 at the National Institute of Public Health at the University of Southern Denmark to further increase research and training in register-based studies.
Who we are
ECREPH is a multidisciplinary research centre covering topics within public health, epidemiology, statistics and spatial modelling. Currently, ECREPH includes a professor, an assistant professor, a post doctoral researcher and several PhD and MSc students.

At present, our major research themes are:
- Economic crises and public health consequences
- GIS and geographical public health modelling
- Validation of population-based registers
- Methodological development in register-based research
