Violence in close relationships
The National Institute of Public Health has since 2004 conducted surveys on intimate partner violence and dating violence funded by the national action plans to combat intimate partner violence.
On the basis of new surveys in 2010 and 2011, this report describes the nature and prevalence of violence in close relationships, that is, both partner violence against women and against men, as well as the extent to which children are estimated to be witnesses of partner violence.
It can be ascertained that there has been a decrease in the extent of intimate partner violence against women in recent years, but that there is a tendency towards a greater proportion of men reporting intimate partner violence.
